We’re not just your average health company; we’re aiming to revolutionise access to healthcare in the UK by offering innovative health and wellbeing solutions that are affordable, accessible, and effective. From preventive care to comprehensive medical support, we aim to empower individuals to take charge of their health, inspiring them to make the most of their wellbeing. Added to that we’re the first health insurer in the UK to be awarded B-Corp status in recognition of our significant achievements in sustainability, in addition to our ambitious environmental and social responsibility goals.
We’re looking for two proactive and collaborative Risk Managers to join our second-line Risk team. These roles provide an exciting opportunity to work across the Group, providing pragmatic risk advice, constructive challenge and insight to help colleagues make informed decisions while supporting the delivery of our strategic objectives.
As a Risk Manager, you’ll play a key role in embedding a strong risk culture by supporting business areas to identify, assess and manage risks effectively. You’ll provide independent oversight and challenge on risk and control activity, support the delivery of our Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, oversee the management of incidents and risk events, and produce meaningful reporting to support senior decision-making.
Working closely with colleagues across Risk, Compliance and the wider business, you’ll help strengthen our risk management framework, improve governance and controls, and use data and insights to identify trends, monitor risk appetite and support continuous improvement.
We have two roles available, each with a specific area of focus:
Risk Manager – Regulatory Risk Focus
Around 20% of your time will be dedicated to providing risk support and challenge on key regulatory initiatives and assessments. This will include supporting activities such as the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), Solvent Exit Analysis and PRA Climate Risk Assessment, alongside other regulatory and strategic risk priorities as required.
Risk Manager – Risk & Control Framework Focus
Around 20% of your time will be focused on supporting the development and ongoing operation of the Simplyhealth Funding Services (SFS) Risk and Control Framework, with scope to support the development of risk frameworks for future new business areas. This will include helping to embed effective risk management practices, enhance controls and support the evolution of our risk approach.
Both roles will contribute to:
- Providing second-line oversight and constructive challenge on the identification, assessment and management of risks across assigned business areas.
- Supporting the quarterly RCSA process, engaging stakeholders and challenging risk assessments and control effectiveness.
- Managing the day-to-day risk event and incident process, including supporting and developing our network of incident co-ordinators.
- Producing high-quality risk, control and incident reporting for senior stakeholders, including Executive and Board committees.
- Supporting the administration and ongoing optimisation of our Risk and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) platform.
- Analysing risk data to support risk appetite monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of our risk management framework, methodologies and supporting documentation.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced risk professional who enjoys building relationships, influencing outcomes and helping organisations manage risk in a practical and proportionate way. You’ll bring strong analytical skills, confidence working with stakeholders at all levels, and a passion for using risk management to enable better business decisions.
