As a technical architect, you’ll be at the forefront of designing systems that deliver great products to our customers. You’ll have an innovative mind with a strong background in software engineering and product development. Using your experience of modern software engineering principles, you’ll also be an expert in architectural modelling and apply design patterns to solve real business and customer problems. 

Working with the product engineering squads, you’ll provide technical leadership and guide the squads in making technical decisions whilst driving the high-level intentional architecture. You’ll build strong relationships within the squads, mentoring them on how to build quality software and use your initiative to understand the business and technical context of the area that you’re working in.

 

Key responsibilities

  •         Translating customer needs into technical designs following established standards
  •          Apply modern software design patterns to meet functional and non-functional requirements
  •          Communicating the architecture to various technical and non-technical audiences
  •          Communicating complex ideas and concepts simply and elegantly and with impact
  •          Performing architectural reviews
  •         Create high quality architecture artefacts that are tailored to different audiences
  •         Create diagrams, models and technical specifications
  •         Coach delivery teams in building high quality software

About You

 

As a Technical Architect, you will have a collaborative working style and help to drive a positive working relationship across the squads by providing great technical leadership.

  

To be considered you must have:
  • Designing and architecting modern software systems
  •  Microservices and Event Driven architectures
  • Diagramming tools like Mermaid, Visio, Gliphy or Draw.io
  • Expert in at least two languages (i.e. Java,  C#, Go, Rust, Javascript / TypeScript, Python etc.)

 

Our dream candidate might also have:

  • Working in product-led environment
  • C4 Model and/or UML
  • Mermaid and/or PlantUML

We have a head office in Hampshire, but depending on your role, you’ll be able to enjoy our ‘smart working’ approach This means you can flex when and where you spend your time. For many of us this means day to day work can be handled remotely, but there will also be times when we need to come together in the office to collaborate, attend training sessions, induction, briefings and more.
