About The Role

Do you have experience of preparing technical accounting papers? Do you enjoy leading and developing a team?

We’re seeking a confident and experienced Financial Accountant to join our growing finance team for 12m. We’ll look to you to act as a source of accounting expertise, driving the month end process, assisting in the interpretation of the management accounts and any issues arising within the financial control procedures and reconciliations.

You’ll be a key player in ensuring that our financial data and reporting is of the highest integrity, comply with all standards, regulations and legislation and in doing so reinforce our trusted brand of Simplyhealth which underpins our ability to serve our core purpose, which is to improve access to healthcare, for the many, for the long term. 

We’ll look to you to lead a small team of varying levels, providing day to day management and ensuring the delivery of monthly accounts, BPR pages and all balance sheet reconciliations, including those of Dental Joint ventures

About You

As a finance professional that’s commitment to providing a first class service to internal customer and external partners, you’ll be experienced in managing teams of accountants with a proven record of developing future talent.

To ensure your success, you’ll need to be able to demonstrate leading statutory audits and production of statutory accounts alongside knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS reporting

Communication both verbal and written will be your strengths and you’ll command “Gravitas” within the wider business in relation to processes and controls.

In Return 

As well as a competitive basic salary you’ll receive:

  • 36 days holiday (including 8 bank holidays) with an option to buy or sell a further 5 days
  • Group annual bonus (discretionary) up to 7.5% of annual salary
  • A pension scheme with 6% from us, a minimum 3% from you with the option to increase or decrease when you join. If you decide to contribute 4% or above we will add a further 4% which can be allocated in different ways
