About The Role

Are you a SQL DBA / Data Engineer, with experience of SQL Server installations and upgrades, and data migrations with complex T-SQL and SSIS?

We’ve been transforming Simplyhealth since 2014 and for the last 12 months we’ve really picked up the pace. Having recently come together as one Simplyhealth team, under one new brand we’re continuing to transform our business to reach our 2024 ambition, grow Simplyhealth and ultimately deliver our powerful purpose.

We’re now looking for 2 x SQL Database Administrators to join our Andover based IT team for a 12m period, where you’ll be responsible for supporting our SQL estate and will play a leading role in 2 large programmes of change. The role is likely to be remote during COVID-19.

About The Role

You’ll be part of a great team, providing DBA expertise to a number of interesting transformation projects, including a SQL Server estate modernisation, and complex data migrations, and also covering typical BAU DBA duties.

The database administration team take full responsibility for supporting the management of the Simplyhealth database estate and associated server resources.  This includes installation, monitoring, performance tuning and backups whilst contributing to the design, capacity planning and strategic growth planning of database infrastructure, and providing data engineering expertise in the form of writing and supporting complex integrations using T-SQL & SSIS.

About You

About You

To ensure your success, we’ll need you to have demonstrable experience of supporting production and development databases, environments and applications and have experience of working with all the components of IT infrastructure

As an expert in your field you'll be a confident with SQL Server & Windows server, T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and Powershell, with estate modernisation experience (SQL Server upgrades and migrations), and data migration and integration experience (complex T-SQL, ETL with SSIS or equivalent).

You'll be focused on achieving personal goals/daily and be confident to speak up in meetings, stating your opinions, spotting opportunities and escalating issues to improve your own performance and processes.

As well as a competitive basic salary you’ll receive:
