About The Role

Are you experienced in providing operational and technical support for major business applications? Are you a problem solver that can take ownership of business challenges?

At Simplyhealth, we’re looking for an experienced Support Engineer to join our Andover based team and help us ensure that stability and continuity of service are achieved throughout an applications lifetime.

The role

As an application support engineer, we’ll need you to work with both Internal and External stakeholders to manage incidents, service requests and changes to applications across the Simplyhealth Group. You’ll play a key role in;

  • Providing 1st/2nd line user support for multiple CRM systems.

  • Undertaking front end configuration including customisation of objects, fields, record types, pick list values, page layouts and validation settings.

  • Performing user account management, access control, system and security permissions.

  • Developing and maintaining system reports and dashboards.

  • Working with the business to define, develop, test and deliver system requirements for functional enhancements, change requests or project activities.

  • Providing regular and ad hoc user training, and maintain basic training manuals.

  • Working with project teams, systems development staff and consultants on the design and development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfil user requirements.

  • Keeping abreast of technical developments of operational importance to Simplyhealth and to participate in developing or setting standards as directed.

  • Providing maintenance and support through program modifications, using agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result; creates and amends programs/scripts/configurations in accordance with the design/program specification. Plans, designs and conducts tests of programs/scripts/configurations; corrects errors and re-tests to achieve an error-free result.

  • Supporting the integration of data coming from different enterprise systems to ensure single view of customer.

  • Analysing business requirements and designs appropriate solutions.

  • Designing, building and maintaining advanced reports, dashboards, and business process automation.

  • Providing ongoing technical maintenance and usage support of business applications in order to maintain their reliability and business benefits.

  • Ensuring incidents are properly logged, assigned and responded to in a timely manner in line with agreed SLA’s.

About You

Your experience

This is a front facing role that requires so you’ll need a flexible and friendly approach with the ability to convey complex ideas and concepts simply, elegantly and with impact to create understanding.

Experience of working within an IT support environment in a similar role is essential, alongside demonstrable experience of;

  • Analytical thinking, problem solving and creativity
  • Strong customer focus – meeting and exceeding expectations, resolving issues and developing solutions to meet customer needs.

  • Patience (work can involve repetitive tasks)

  • Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and highly focused

  • Good communication skills with the ability to converse with a broad range of other roles e.g. Project Managers, Developers, DBAs, Testers, Users

As well as a competitive basic salary you’ll receive:

  • Group annual bonus (discretionary) up to 6.5% of annual salary

  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays with an option to buy or sell a further 5 days
