About The Role

Are you an experienced test automation engineer? Have you worked with Test Analysts, Developers, Product Owners and Business Analysts to assure the quality of software solutions?

At Simplyhealth, we’re looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our Andover based team and help us embark on a new strategic direction.

The role

Working as an advocate for test automation and in collaboration with the team, you'll help to identify and implement assurance activities that are appropriate for automation, alongside;

  • Contributing to daily stand up meetings, sprint planning, sprint demos and sprint retrospectives
  • Providing accurate estimates for user stories and backlog items.
  • Translate user stories and backlog items into logical units of work.
  • Support the construction of project test strategies/plans to define the key risks
  • Liaise with Software Developers and Test Analysts (if appropriate) to agree split of testing responsibilities.
  • Implement test management for both manual and automated testing as needed.
  • Determine how test coverage can be measured and assessed during testing where feasible.
  • Determine testability and test automation framework requirements
  • Translate acceptance criteria into automated test cases where appropriate
  • Produce well structured, efficient and reliable automated tests within the agreed timescales
  • Manage code using the code management tool of choice
  • Contribute to the overall quality of code delivered
  • Execute automated testing, and liaison with third-party suppliers
  • Ensure automated tests run in a continuous manner as part of continuous delivery pipelines
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of a test automation process.
  • Create test automated scripts, monitoring test execution and ensuring results are recorded.
  • Actively participate in the test automation community, sharing skills and knowledge and bringing in best practice.

Your Experience

You’ll need proven experience of performing test automation for software applications, delivering high quality solutions on a range of medium to large scale projects. With demonstrable experience of;

  • Testing software across a wide range of different applications.
  • Delivering a test automation solution using Selenium with Specflow/C# and/or Cucumber/Java
  • Experience of working in agile delivery teams.
  • Experience of working with project collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence and test management software such as XRay for JIRA.
  • Interested in new tools and technology and their application in a business environment.
  • Continuous delivery and continuous integration
  • Managing code using a source code management tool such as TFS or Git.
  • Experience with API development and automated Mobile testing desirable, but not essential.
  • Automating UI scripts using cloud based systems such as Browserstack
  • Performance testing using JMeter desirable, but not essential

As well as a competitive basic salary you’ll receive:

  • Group annual bonus (discretionary) up to 7.5% of annual salary

  • 28 days annual leave, plus bank holidays with an option to buy or sell a further 5 days

  • A pension scheme with 6% from us, a minimum 3% from you with the option to increase or decrease when you join. If you decide to contribute 4% or above we will add a further 4% which can be allocated in different ways
