About The Role

At Simplyhealth, we have a rare opportunity to lead our sales function as Group Sales Director. This is a key strategic and operational role responsible for delivering our ambitious growth plans. Your primary aim will be to secure and develop both existing and new revenue streams, coupled with improving and driving current sales performance.

Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, you’ll own and lead our multi-channel sales strategy to deliver profitable growth across all channels.  You will have a clear view on how you and your team will acquire, retain and develop all customer segments through the acquisition of new business, strategic client management and digital acquisition, ensuring plans are fully aligned to planned marketing activities.

You will ensure that we have robust pre-engagement strategies, lead generation and compelling win themes that harness emerging capabilities and innovation in the market, effectively responding and gearing these towards successful sales delivery. 

Please note we have a ‘smart working’ policy with flexible remote working. We will consider applications across the UK, however, there may be a requirement to attend meetings at our Hampshire head office in line with government guidelines.

About You

You must have an extensive, recent and demonstrable background in strategic sales within health insurance with a strong market understanding including experience of managing intermediary relationships. You’ll have experience of managing cross functional sales teams and be adept at delivering growth through effective management of online and offline digital sales channels.

You’ll be a creative leader able to think of new approaches to challenges, at pace, with measurable results. You’ll be highly numerate with a strong grasp of sales targets and sales performance with experience in driving positive sales behaviour through leadership and incentive programs, as well as being able to demonstrate an excellent track record delivering significant growth, through the introduction of new customers and new sources of profitable revenue.

You’ll be adept at setting a vision by identifying clear competitive advantages. You’ll have a long-term focus and be considerate of future challenges. You’ll be highly effective at dealing with business complexity and driven to deliver growth.  You’ll be exceptionally business minded, always thinking ahead with the ability to spot gaps in the business model and identify commercial opportunities.

You’ll deliver long term sustainable profitable top line growth, at pace. You'll be able to unlock issues for others and identify opportunities that deliver highly challenging and sustainable commercial targets. You’ll be courageous in your approach. Demonstrating outstanding judgement, successfully incorporating a complex range of issues to develop well-rounded long-term strategies.  You’ll constantly seek out industry leading operational performance with low operational risk, lower operational costs and increased revenues relative to competitors, creating value for customers.

In Return

As a PAYE colleague you’ll receive a competitive basic salary plus:

  • Group annual discretionary bonus
